West Orange wide receiver Garrett Johnson has narrowed his 11 Football Bowl Subdivision scholarship offers down to four schools (listed alphabetically): Arizona, Boston College, Kentucky and USF.

Johnson (5-foot-9, 162 pounds) announced the list Saturday, saying that while he did not have a timetable for his commitment, it will be sooner than what he originally had planned.

?I was thinking about hopefully doing it sometime in the fall,? he said, ?but me and my mom were talking about it today and we?re not sure of the exact time frame, but it will be sooner than I expected."

Johnson talked about the positives of each of his final four schools:

Arizona: ?Coach [David] Lockwood [cornerbacks coach] and I have a good relationship and we always have great conversations. I can see myself fitting in there, especially with the type of offense they run.?

Boston College: ?Coach [Todd] Fitch [wide receivers coach], me and him had a great relationship when he was at USF and I met him during my ninth-grade year. I?ve always talked with him about everything. Boston College is a great school both football-wise and also academically.?

Kentucky: ?Just me talking to Coach [Chad] Scott [running backs coach] a lot really helped me out and the bond has grown between me and him. Also, me knowing a few of their players like Jeff [Badet], and Jojo [Kemp] and Blake [McClain], that?s helping let me know a lot about what?s going on at Kentucky right now ? they always give me honest feedback.?

USF: ?The new coaching staff, I love them. I?ve always been a big fan of USF even with the previous coaching staff, and I?ve kept a good bond and everything so the feel for USF for me hasn?t changed.?

Of his final four teams, Johnson has only visited USF. He plans to take a trip to Kentucky later this month and has yet to plan trips for Arizona and B.C.

?Obviously it would be better and a smarter decision for me to step foot on campus and check it out for myself before I make a commitment like that,? Johnson said.

He knows he could be picking up a few more offers as his senior season progresses, so even if he does make a commitment there is the possibility that things could change for him down the line. For now, however, he feels good about the opportunities that have been presented to him.

?For the most part he ones I have now are the main ones I?ll have,? he said. ?I think during the fall I might pick up a few more but we'll see.?

Johnson, a speedy slot-type receiver who has a strong upper body and can fill any of the wide-receiver roles, runs a 4.47 40-yard dash. He has been very productive over the past two seasons for the Warriors.

Johnson, who is ranked No. 9 in the Sentinel?s 2014 Central Florida Super60?and No. 65 in the Sentinel's Florida Top 100, caught 104 passes for 1,699 yards and 17 touchdowns during his sophomore and junior years.
